Hello, friends!
It's September, and I'm not sure how it is almost Fall. I am convincing myself that Fall is great and Winter is even better. (My favorite season is Summer!) I am looking forward to the pumpkin farms, chili and soups on repeat, football, Great American Family/Hallmark movies, and this year I think I will find me a big red juicy candied apple. It's been a very long time since I have eaten one of those. Ohhhh, apple orchards are fun too. That is where I can find a yummy candied apple. I have always wanted to try apple cider donuts. I think I'll add those to my buggy as well.
Are you team buggy or shopping cart?

π₯ Recipe Iβm Loving
Last month I shared with you that I started milling my own grain. I am doing that for the health benefits, not just to jump on the latest trend, even though trends can be fun. (I don't even know if it is a trend, but it seems to be according to my social media feed.)
Even though these cinnamon Rolls have sugar in them, they are much healthier than buying from a bakery or store. They are so yummy!
Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients:
Basic Yeast Bread Dough Ingredients - 1 1/2 cups hot water - 1/3 cup oil - 1/3 cup honey - 2 teaspoons salt - 1-2 Tablespoons sunflower seed lecithin - 1 teaspoon gluten (optional) - 1 egg, optional - 4-4 1/2 cups hard wheat flour - 1 Tablespoon yeast
Filling Ingredients:
- 1 cup dark or light evaporated cane sugar, or a mixture of the two
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Pinch ground nutmeg, optional
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup butter, softened or melted
Instructions: 1. Prepare basic yeast bread dough. Let rise once if desired or rest for 10-15 minutes. 2. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into an 18 x 15 inch rectangle. 3. In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer mixture to a shaker if desired. 4. Spread dough with softened or melted butter leaving a 1/2 inch at top edge unbuttered (for easy sealing). Sprinkle with cinnamon/sugar mixture. 5. Roll up dough tightly toward unbuttered edge, making a long cylinder. Using a sharp knife or dough divider cut into even slices. 6. Place cut side down in prepared baking pan. Let rise in a warm place until double and sides of rolls are touching. 7. While rolls rise, preheat oven to 375Β°F. Bake rolls in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes. Remove from oven. Let cool slightly. Ice as desired.
Vanilla Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk or more as needed

π Verse & Reflection
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30.
July was really hard. August was harder. September is proving tohave really hard days as well. Life is just hard sometimes. This verse is so comforting and a great one to run to when experiencing hard things. First of all it shows us that Jesus knows we will experience hard things in life that feel heavy. He sure did! Secondly, He is where we find rest. He says, "come to me."
Run to Him! He is waiting on you.

π Just for Fun
I'm still hanging on to Summer until September 22! Then, I'll give it up! I will get those Fall porch decorations out and join the rest of you Fall Lovers.

π Encouragement / Blessing
Iβm praying you find moments of rest this week/wekend β and remember, youβre doing better than you think you are!
In July, my husband and I joined our son and his family at the beach. One day, our granddaughter went to the beach with us while the others stayed back at the pool. It was the best day. As I was sitting in my chair watching her play, I thought about how restful the beach was to me. I also thought about how being around my grandchildren remind me that life is good, even when it's hard. And, I'm usually doing better than I think I am.

π What Iβm Reading / Listening To
I shared this book last month, but it is too good not to share again. I hope you get yourself a copy, grab your favorite warm drink and find a cozy spot outside (as the weather is cooling down in the mornings and nights) to curl up and read. I'd love to know what you think about this book. What did you learn about the Holy Spirit? What challenged you to dig into God's Word for answers?

πΏ Young Living Essential Oil Spotlight
I think my family and friends would say I'm crunchyish. LOL! I eat organic food, use a ton of essential oils daily, I take supplements like many people my age take prescription medications, my perfume is 100% natural and non-toxic β¬οΈ, I buy grass fed and grass finished meat, AND, I love Mexican Cokes, Starbucks Pink Drinks, pizza, cinnamon rolls (made with freshly milled flour- haha), and sugar in my coffee.
This starter kit with Young Living is where it all began for me in 2013. It started me on my "crunchyish" lifestyle and it truly was one of the best decision I have ever made.

π― Mini-Challenge of the Month
I've been struggling to get my walk in on days that I don't play pickleball. So, I challenged myself to walk a mile (or more) for 21 days straight- Monday through Saturday, taking Sundays off. As often as I can, I walk around my neighborhood so I can get the butt/thigh burn at the end of the loop that is slightly uphill. But if I don't walk the neighborhood loop, I jump my treadmill that I refuse to allow to become a clothes hanger. π€ͺ
Even when I miss three days in a row, I'm getting back out there and not giving up!
Need this walking challenge also? Let's go!
