July/August 2025 Heart Letter

August 2025

Goodbye July and Hello August!

July flew by and felt like three months, at the same time. I'm an administrator at a Christian School, and July is the busiest time of the year for our school's admin. team. The upcoming Labor Day break will surely be welcomed.

I'm never ready for Summer to be over, but I sure am ready for a more "normal" school routine. The "ber" months are almost here- September, October, November, December. What are you looking forward to most? I'm looking forward to college football, chili, more nights sitting on our back patio, pumpkin patches, and

Freshly Milled Grain

I started milling grain (whole wheat) at the end of March and have not stopped. Once I learned about the health benefits, I was hooked!

I watched Bread Beckers "Getting Started" Youtube video and was amazed at what I learned.

Brace yourself! If you are interested in learning why I make homemade bread every week and share it with my family, watch this THREE hour youtube video. It's long, but super informative.

Unmet Goal

August Update: I did not finish reading this Bible in 100 days, which was my Summer goal. However, I'm not quitting because I did not meet my goal.

God continues to teach me right where I am.

Meal Planning on our Skylight Calendar

All my regularly used recipes have been uploaded to our Skylight Calendar. I plan my monthly menus and just touch the day and meal and my recipe comes up. Genius!

Working puzzles is also one of my favorite things to do as a quiet Sabbath rhythm that helps me rest and recharge.

PS: I don't normally work puzzles twice, but I love this so much that I have worked it a few times.

October 2025 Hello, friends! Happy October! I'm chasing beauty during this Fall season. I watched a podcast that was about finishing the sentence, I just don't see how people live without _________. The guest on the show answered with the word beauty and then proceeded to explain his answer. It was encouraging to me and so inviting. Each day I'm trying to remember to ask, "How can I chase beauty today?" Here are some ways I have been chasing beauty. I walked outside and noticed the...

September 2025 Hello, friends! It's September, and I'm not sure how it is almost Fall. I am convincing myself that Fall is great and Winter is even better. (My favorite season is Summer!) I am looking forward to the pumpkin farms, chili and soups on repeat, football, Great American Family/Hallmark movies, and this year I think I will find me a big red juicy candied apple. It's been a very long time since I have eaten one of those. Ohhhh, apple orchards are fun too. That is where I can find a...

June 2025 Happy June! It's my favorite month of the year. It is time to welcome in Summer! The days are longer and hotter, which I love so much! Some years, like this one, we head to the beach in June for a much-needed rest from everyday life. I'm Reading the Bible in 100 Days (or less) Join me! I'm finding it easier to stay focused for 100 days (give or take a few days) than for a whole year. This Bible is written as a paraphrase and in chronological order, so it is like reading a great...
