October 2025 Heart Letter

Hello, friends!

Happy October! I'm chasing beauty during this Fall season. I watched a podcast that was about finishing the sentence, I just don't see how people live without _________. The guest on the show answered with the word beauty and then proceeded to explain his answer. It was encouraging to me and so inviting. Each day I'm trying to remember to ask, "How can I chase beauty today?"

Here are some ways I have been chasing beauty.

  • I walked outside and noticed the Fall/falling leaves.
  • I went to a park swing and read from a book, with the sunshine beaming down on my face.
  • We had a pumpkin painting party with our grands.
  • We have a trip to a pumpkin farm with kids/grands planned.
  • We have a trip to an apple orchard coming up.

How can you chase beauty during this beautiful season?

I struggle to believe God loves me as much as He does. How could He love a sinner such as I? I don't understand it, but He does. My former pastor, Dr. Render Caines, used to say often from the pulpit, "He loves me because He loves me because He loves me." He just does.

I'm so thankful!

πŸ˜„ Just for Fun

My sweaters are ready. The trees are beginning to turn beautiful colors here in the south. And... it has been hot outside! I look like Summer in the Fall. Anyone else? πŸ€ͺ

You know I'm loving this! An extended Summer is always a gift to me.

However, this third week in October is bringing in some really cool mornings and evenings.

πŸ™ Encouragement / Blessing

I love this feelings wheel. I have it as a photo on my phone.

Sometimes I cannot figure out my feeling/emotion about something. This always helps me name it, sit with it and pray about it. Sometimes I need to work on changing my thoughts; other times, I just need to lean into it and embrace the struggles of life.

❀️ Something I'm Loving

I've been telling you that I mill my own grain and make fresh bread several times a week. I've been doing this since April. I have not missed a day since April without eating bread from freshly milled grain, right in my own kitchen.

It's delicious, but most importantly, it is super healthy.

I love sharing my bread and helping others experience the health benefits. It is so fun seeing someone who is gluten sensitive to experience gut healing once they eat real bread.

Jesus did not say He was the bread of life because bread was terrible for you. It sustained life. It still does.

Then Jesus declared, β€œI am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

🎯 Challenge of the Month

Do you have a hard time saying no? Me too with most things.
I'm learning that no to something means yes to something else. Right now when I say no, it means more margin in my afternoons to spend time outside, taking a walk, coffee with a friend, a movie with my husband, talks on the back patio, and more. This will give you more rest to do your yeses well.

Decide what you can say yes to and then you will more easily be able to say no to other things that will take away a yes, that is very important to you.

August 2025 Goodbye July and Hello August! July flew by and felt like three months, at the same time.
